Kerri Smith

The person with the dream.

After spending 35 years in the medical, veterinary and hospitality fields, Kerri Smith began to recognize the need for different kind of animal crematory. This opportunity turned into her personal dream to create a crematorium facility founded on understanding, compassion and unparalleled client service.  In May of 2005 Kerri and her partner Scott Mason formed Live Oak Pet Services in the beautiful 150 acre countryside setting of Anderson, Texas.

Kerri’s background includes participating in a successful business while growing up outside of Chicago, Illinois.  Her family resort, the Chateau Louise, was a top twenty restaurant in the country and won the IVY Award for Excellence. The combination of influence from her parents and the business became the foundation of Kerri’s knowledge of outstanding customer service.

For 17 years a passion for the Rottweiler dog has resulted in Kerri’s involvement in ethical and selective breeding and extensive rescue work. She is a standing member of Medallion Rottweiler Club, the Brazos Valley Kennel Club, the Bryan-College Station & Grimes County Chambers of Commerce, and the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematories. She is also a certified cremation operator.

Scott Mason

The person with technical expertise.

Scott holds a BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma College Honor Society.  Before becoming both partner and the Crematory Operations Manager of Live Oak Pet Services, Scott managed the surgery department at a College Station veterinary hospital for 4 years and worked with equine clinics while attending Texas A&M University. He performed the anesthesia and critical care for all surgical patients.

The belief that he will do whatever it takes to give extraordinary customer service is the focus that gives Scott the energy and zest for his position with Live Oak Pet Services.  He is a certified cremation operator and is responsible for the transportation and cremation of the animals from the veterinary clinics to Live Oak Pet Services.

Scott is a standing member of the Bryan-College Station & Grimes County Chambers of Commerce, and the International Association of Pet Cemeteries & Crematories.
