Scott was raised in Round Rock, TX and grew up with dogs and cats in his household. He has been riding horses since he was 7 years old. Scott came to College Station in 1997 to attend Texas A&M University. In 2001 he graduated from A&M with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. During his college years Scott worked for 2 equine veterinary hospitals as a technician. After school he worked for a large small-animal hospital for 4 years. There he became the hospital manager overseeing all medical patient care as well as being in charge of the surgical patients and anesthesia.
He has been around all types of animals through his veterinary experience, rodeos, and even in his own home. Scott has 5 four-legged children, including 2 dogs, Magnum (13 yrs.) and Sierra (9.5yrs), 2 cats, Crash (7yrs.) and Jazmine (5 yrs.), and the Live Oak resident cat, Voodoo (2yrs). He lovingly calls them all “The Herd”. His greatest horse enjoyment came from several years competing in team roping on his former horse, Stick, who passed away at the age of 26 in November 2010.
Scott, one of the founders of Live Oak Pet Services is the president of Live Oak and a certified crematory operator. Over the past 6 years, Scott has developed a passion for assisting pet owners in their most difficult times. He prides himself on making sure Live Oak provides customers the best quality service. His strong technical understanding of the cremation process often helps people understand more about the importance of quality cremation.
